Match Preview:
West Indies and India are all set to lock horns in the first ODI of the three-game series. Ahead of the white-ball leg of the tour, the Men in Blue registered a convincing 1-0 win in the Test series. For Team India, this series will kick off the final preparations for the upcoming 50-over World Cup. Whereas the hosts will hope to rebuild after failing to qualify for the World Cup.
Analysis
After a dismal Test series, West Indies will want a better showing in the ODI series. The squad seems to have a few upgrades in both batting and bowling. Returning players like Kyle Mayers, Shai Hope and Brandon King, will be crucial to tackle an experienced Indian bowling. Whereas the bowling led by Alzzari Joesph will hope to contain India’s batting.
On the other hand, the Indian team hopes to develop a few less-established players for the upcoming World Cup. Hence the likes of Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Mukesh Kumar could get game time. The batting will hope for big contributions from the top three of Rohit Sharma (c), Shubhman Gill and Virat Kohli. While bowling will depend on Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj.
